Rox placed 1B Trey Hernandez on irrevocable waivers - official as of August 23, 2011

The rookie out of Texas A&M Corpus Christi got off to a red-hot start in his professional baseball career, hitting .417 (10-for-24) in the month June with seven RBIs, but slowed down at the plate in recent weeks. Hernandez hit just .222 (14-for-63) with 4 RBIs in 19 games during the month of August, before being placed on the waiver wire. Overall he compiled six home runs and 35 RBIs, while scoring 26 runs in 54 games. He batted .266 (51-for-192) as a first baseman and designated hitter for Brockton.

Rox signed IF Phillip Cuadrado - effective as of August 23, 2011

Cuadrado returns for his fourth season in Brockton as the Rox look to solidify their roster for the playoffs. The third baseman has played in 239 games in a Rox uniform, while batting .301 with 30 home runs and 165 RBIs. Prior to joining Brockton in 2008, Cuadrado spent three seasons in the Colorado Rockies farm system, reaching as high as Advanced-A (Modest Nuts) in 2007. His professional baseball career started in 2005 when he was selected by the Rockies in the 23rd round.
