St. Cloud Rox News Release

The Huskies defeated the Rox 4-3 in a tight game on Tuesday night at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud in front of 1,180 fans. The Huskies now lead the season series 4-1.

Phil Imholte (St Cloud St) was the St Cloud Times player of the game for his 1- 2, two-walk, two-RBI performance which also included a stolen base. Mark Rhine (Wake Forest) raised his average to .326 on the season with a 1-3 night and a sacrifice fly for an RBI.

Billy Soule (Minnesota) took the loss for the Rox. Soule pitched seven innings and scattered seven hits while allowing four runs. The righthander gave up three runs in the first inning and one in the second before shutting down the Huskies for five innings.

Rhine's sac fly in the bottom of the first scored Imholte from third and cut the Huskies lead to 3-1 after one inning. Imholte's 2-run single in the fifth got the Rox within a run but St. Cloud could not plate the tying run and fell 4-3.

The Rox are back home on Wednesday afternoon for a matinee against the Huskies at 3:05 pm. Fans who wear red, white and blue (which also just so happen to be Rox colors!) can purchase a general admission ticket for just $3.

Fireworks Friday is right around the corner as well with a battle with the Beetles scheduled for this Friday July 5th. Fireworks will begin after the game and are presented by Health Partners. Tickets can be purchased at www.stcloudrox.com.
