Bombers Fall Short in 1st Half Finale

BATTLE CREEK, MI - The final game in the first half of the season against the La Crosse Loggers was close the entire way, but the Bombers were on the short end of a 5-3 contest in 10 innings at C.O. Brown Stadium.

The Bombers trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the 7th inning, but Dillon Moyer (UC Irvine) tied the game with an RBI fielder's choice scoring Daniel Rockett. The score remained at 3 after the 9th inning forcing the 3rd extra inning affair in the last 4 games. The Loggers got the eventual winning run in the top of the 10th inning with an RBI double by Joe Meggs. Jonathon Van Eaton then came on and earned the save for the Loggers.

The offensive attack was spread out for the Bombers; 7 of the 9 starting position players had at least 1 hit. With the loss Battle Creek ends the first half with a 14-21 record, but the standings all start over beginning tomorrow. The Bombers begin the second half with a 5-game road trip starting with 3 against the Wisconsin Woodchucks. The first pitch will be at 7:35 ET from Wausau, Wisconsin.
