Augusta, NJ (July 2, 2007) -- RHP Gary Galvez allowed just one run on four hits over seven innings while striking out nine Sussex Skyhawks batters in a 7-1 Brockton Rox victory at Skylands Park in Augusta, NJ in the first game of a three-game series. Galvez retired the final 10 hitters of his evening including the last four via strikeout. Galvez and RHP Kyle George combined to retire 16 of the final 17 batters of the contest. DH Jason Radwan gave the Rox the lead early with a one-out RBI single in the first inning and he finished the contest with three hits and three RBI. The Rox are 2-2 on the on the current six-game road trip and 17-20 overall after the victory.

With one out in the top of the first inning, the Rox took the lead against Sussex LHP Rene Barreras. Radwan ripped an RBI single through the left side, scoring LF Jeremy Coronado. SS Fredy De La Cruz added a sacrifice fly to give Brockton a 2-0 first inning lead. A fielding error by the Skyhawks in the second inning allowed the Rox to plate their third and fourth runs of the evening. Sussex got their only run of the night in the third on an RBI single by 2B Rob Gandolfo, the Can-Am League's Player of the Week.

In the top of the seventh, the Rox plated three runs, two on a double by Radwan. Radwan is 9-18 with a pair of doubles and seven RBI during the four-game road trip.

Galvez made quick work of the Skyhawks in the middle and late innings, retiring each batter he faced from the end of the third through the seventh. He struck out the side in the seventh to put an exclamation point on a fine performance; striking out a season-high nine hitters. George retired six of seven batters faced in the eighth and ninth to wrap up the Rox's 17th win of the season.

Tuesday at 6:35 PM at Skylands Park the Rox take on Sussex with LHP Rolando Viera (3-3, 2.95 ERA) throwing against LHP Ryan Lobban (0-3, 6.04 ERA).
