BROCKTON - The Quebec Capitales (15-11) scored seven runs in the second inning on their way to an 11-1 win over the Brockton Rox (19-7), Monday night.
Quebec third baseman Eddie Lantigua, who leads the Can-Am League in home runs and RBI, hit two homers and drove in three to lead the offensive charge. His two-run blast in the second inning, capped the seven-run explosion that included seven Capitales hits in the frame. They sent 12 batters to the plate in the second.
Brockton's only run came in the third inning when Matt Cucurullo scored from third on a Guye Senjem single to right field.
Quebec added single runs in the third, fifth, seventh and ninth innings. Lantigua hit a solo homer in the ninth for his league-record 24th home run. He leads the loop with 91 RBI as well.
Every Quebec starter finished with at least one hit as the team amassed 20 total for the game. Catcher Olivier Lepine tallied a team-best four hits.
The two teams play again on Tuesday. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
