Brockton, MAâ The Rox came from behind to shut down the Aces, 3-2, in front of 3,383 on Silent Night at Campanelli Stadium.
The Rox opened the scoring on Abner Arroyo's solo home run (his seventh homer of the season) in the third inning. The Aces went ahead, 2-1, with two runs in the fifth.
The Rox tied the game with a run in the seventh as Kris Zacuto scored on a Francisco Matos (2-for-3, 2 RBI) double to center field.
With two outs in the ninth inning and Saul Bustos on second after singling and taking second on an errant pick-off attempt, Matos delivered the decisive blow, singling to center. Bustos, who was running on the play, slid under the tag at home, giving the Rox the 3-2 victory.
Brian Buchanan started the game for the Rox and pitched seven innings, giving up two runs on four hits and four walks, while striking out five. Tony Stutz (3-1) picked up the win in relief, going two innings, allowing no runs and one hit, and striking out a batter.
