That elusive 7th victory evades the Aces yet again
July 6, 2004 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Aces News Release
The Aces thought they were on the way to their seventh win of the season leading 2-1 after six, but Francisco Matos had other ideas. Matos hit an RBI double in the seventh to tie it, then struck again in the bottom of the ninth with an RBI single to win it 3-2 for the Brockton Rox. The loss must have been especially disappointing for Steve Emmerthal, who pitched six innings of three-hit ball for the Aces but did not figure in the decision. Tony Stutz pitched scoreless eighth and ninth innings for the Rox to earn the victory.
