NASHVILLE, Tenn. - After falling into a four-run deficit, the Round Rock Express (67-62) rallied to knock off the Nashville Sounds (51-78) by a final score of 8-6 in 10 innings Sunday night at Greer Stadium.

The Express took a late one-run lead only to have the Sounds tie the game in the bottom of the eighth and send the contest into extra innings. The E-Train responded with two runs in the 10th sealing the victory.

A one-out double off the bat of shortstop Guilder Rodriguez kick started the Express offense in the third as two batters later left fielder Jim Adduci brought Rodriguez home with a single, putting the E-Train on the board first.

The Sounds climbed out of the one-run deficit in the bottom half of the third as a two-out walk came back to haunt Express starter Josh Lindblom. Following the free pass, second baseman Eugenio Velez launched a two-run home run, putting Nashville up 2-1.

The Sounds added to their lead two innings later as Lindblom allowed another two-out long ball that increased Round Rock's deficit. A pair of singles started the inning, but Lindblom responded by retiring the next two batters. With a chance to limit the damage, the right-hander fell behind Nashville's Caleb Gindl in the count 3-1 before allowing a three-run home run that gave the Sounds a 5-1 lead.

The Express rallied in the sixth, putting runners on second and third before third baseman Mike Bianucci knocked in the first run with a single followed by a RBI double off the bat of designated hitter Jared Hoying that brought Round Rock within two at 5-3.

Lindblom finished the sixth inning, turning the game over to the bullpen to begin the seventh. After southpaw Joseph Ortiz tossed a scoreless frame, the offense came to life once more.

With just six outs of offense remaining and a two-run deficit to overcome, the E-Train put two runners on in the eighth. Following a strikeout, a walk to Rodriguez loaded the bases before catcher Zach Zaneski came through with a clutch two-run single to knot the game at five apiece. The Sounds intentionally walked Adduci to reload the bases, setting up center fielder Engel Beltre who cashed in the go ahead run with a sacrifice fly, giving Round Rock its first lead since scoring the game's first run in the third.

The Sounds answered the Express' rally in the bottom of the eighth, plating a run on left fielder Hainley Statia's RBI double to tie the game at six.

After neither team was able to score in the ninth, the Express entered extra innings for the eighth time on the season. Round Rock wasted little time taking a lead in the extra session, loading the bases in the top of the 10th before Beltre delivered a RBI single for a one-run advantage. The E-Train added an insurance run on a RBI ground out by second baseman Alex Buchholz that put the Express up by two.

Closer Cory Burns entered in the bottom of the 10th and closed the door on the Sounds, stranding runners on second and third with one out by retiring the final two batters. Side-winder Ben Rowen (2-0) picked up the win in relief, while reliever Travis Webb (2-5) was tagged with the loss for Nashville.

The Express and Sounds continue a five-game set Monday night at 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Evan Meek (5-7, 4.79 ERA) is set to take the mound for Round Rock, while Nashville counters with southpaw Aaron Laffey (6-6, 5.53 ERA). After the five-game set in Nashville, the E-Train returns to Dell Diamond for the final homestand of the regular season on Thursday, August 21 to open a five-game series against Oklahoma City.
