
Sacramento beats Tucson

Shane Peterson's five-hit night for the River Cats led Sacramento to an 11-5 victory over the Tucson Padres Saturday at Raley Field. Tucson is now five games back of first place in the Pacific Southern Division with 16 games remaining in the season.
The Padres struck first in the opening frame with two runs on RBI singles from Jonathan Galvez and Brandon Allen. Sacramento responded with one run in the bottom of the first coming from Peterson's RBI single. Brandon Allen crushed a two-run homer past center field in the third to extend Tucson's lead to 4-1. Two runs came around for the River Cats in the bottom third on Anthony Aliotti's triple to bring the game back to a one-run contest. Peterson drove in his second run for Sacramento in the fourth on a double to left-center to knot the score at four.
Aliotti lined an RBI single to left in the fifth, putting the River Cats up 5-4. Peterson added to Sacramento's lead in the sixth with an RBI single for his fourth hit of the game. The River Cats scored three runs on three hits in the seventh to increase their advantage to 10-4. Ben Francisco's RBI single in the eighth brought around Galvez to score the final run for the Padres. Galvez and Allen both finished the night with three hits apiece for Tucson.
Arnold Leon won his fourth game, pitching five innings of relief for the River Cats. Brad Brach was charged with the loss after surrendering two earned runs in two innings. Tucson starter Robbie Erlin went four innings allowing eight hits and one earned run. Brett Anderson started the game for Sacramento going 2.1 innings and yielding three hits and two runs in a rehabilitation assignment from Oakland.
