
Roughnecks sign top players Kelusky and Toth

Calgary, AB ( Tuesday, November 08, 2005) - The Calgary Roughnecks' two highest profile players, Tracey Kelusky and Kaleb Toth, today re-signed with the club. Both pacts are for one year and are subject to National Lacrosse League approval.
"With both these All Stars back on the books, we can now focus on lacrosse," said Roughnecks General Manager Kurt Silcott.
"These two guys are absolutely key to us and we look to them to lead to lead us to another Champion's Cup."
Tracey Kelusky has been captain of the Calgary Roughnecks since being selected first overall in the Montreal Express dispersal draft in 2003.
Since then he has taken the club into the playoffs for the first time ever and then led the Riggers as they captured the NLL Champion's Cup in 2004.
The 5 ft. 10 in. 175 lb. forward played all his minor lacrosse in Peterborough, Ont., most of it under the tutelage of lacrosse legend, John Grant Sr.
Earned America East Rookie of the Year, First Division All Star, and Division One scoring honours in his years at the University of Hartford.
Kelusky, 30, was drafted first overall in the 2000 NLL entry draft by the now defunct Columbus Landsharks.
Has represented Canada in both box and field lacrosse.
In 80 NLL games (75 regular season and 5 playoff) he has registered 196 goals and 179 assists for a total of 375 points. He has also collected 422 loose balls and 70 penalty minutes.
Kaleb Toth is the Riggers' assistant captain and has not missed a game since the Roughnecks entered the NLL in 2001-2002.
Toth, 28, made his NLL debut in 2000 with the Toronto Rock and scored the winning goal with just one second remaining when the Rock took the Champion's Cup.
He was acquired by the Roughnecks prior to their inaugural season in exchange for Blaine Manning and the Roughnecks first round selection in the 2003 NLL entry draft.
Toth, 6 ft. and 195 lbs., was the first ever Calgary player named to an NLL All-Star team.
He's won the Champion's Cup with Toronto and Calgary, a Mann Cup with the Victoria Shamrocks and the Heritage Cup with Canada.
In 99 NLL games, he has registered 392 points (197 goals, 195 assists) and collected 519 loose balls and 85 penalty minutes.
