
Knighthawks re-sign Steve Toll

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Knighthawks General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the defenseman Steve Toll has agreed to a two-year deal. The K-Hawks also signed goalie Corey Quinn to a one-year deal and inked defensemen Chris Stewart and David Brown to two-year contracts. The contracts are all pending league approval.
Toll returns to Rochester after being acquired from the San Jose Stealth during the 2005 season for a first and second-round pick in the 2005 National Lacrosse League Draft. Last season, he played in five games with the Knighthawks and recorded 10 points (5+5). With the Stealth, he had four goals and eight assists in 12 games.
The veteran enters his ninth season of professional lacrosse and has 101 goals, 131 assists and 678 loose balls in 93 games. The native of St. Catharines, Ontario, spent the majority of his career with the Toronto Rock, where he won championships in 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003. The 30-year-old played college hockey at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Quinn returns to Rochester after spending the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons with the Buffalo Bandits. He was a member of the Knighthawks during the 2000 season. In his professional career, he has played in 20 games and owns a record of 1-1.
Stewart played in 17 games this summer with the Barrie Lakeshores of the OLA Senior "A" league. He recorded one goal, three assists and 20 penalty minutes.
Brown was originally a sixth-round selection (56th overall) by Buffalo in the 2003 NLL Entry Draft. This summer, he was a member of the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks in the Ontario Lacrosse Association Senior "B" league. In the regular season, he notched a career-high five goals, 11 assists and 16 points. During the playoffs, he was seventh on the team with 12 points (2+10) in nine games.
The Knighthawks will open their National Lacrosse League Training Camp on Saturday, November 12th and Sunday, November 13th at All Star Sports Arena in Irondequoit, NY.
The sessions will run from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the facility at 557 East Ridge Road. The practices are free and open to the public. Players and coaches will be available for autographs following the workouts.
