
Wings sign fan favorite Jeff Ratcliffe

The Philadelphia Wings have signed sixth-year forward Jeff Ratcliffe for the 2006 season it was announced today by Wings General Manager and Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson. Seven other players including Drexel University graduate Jeff Spano, and Rutgers University star Keith Cromwell have also signed for the 2006 season. Per team policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed. "Jeff has been a large part of this team's success of the past five years," said Wings GM and Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson. "We are leaning on him to lead our young offense this season. He will be a great player for our young guys to learn from." Cromwell returns for his fifth season with the Wings. The Rutgers University grad was fourth on the team in scoring last year with 24 goals and 43 assists for a total of 67 points.
Brzeski, who returns after missing part of last season due to a torn ACL, is back for his sixth season. During Brzeski's six-year run with the Wings he has accumulated eight points including one goal and seven assists.
Spano acquired 69 points (19G, 50A) and recovered 259 loose balls in four seasons with the Wings. The Drexel University graduate was signed as a free agent by Philadelphia prior to the 2002 season. He returns for his fifth season.
Sweeney, a Springfield, PA native, returns for his second season with the Wings. During his rookie season, Sweeney scored one goal and added six assists. Sweeney attended Georgetown University where he was selected as the pre-season ECAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2003.
Morley finished his first season with the Wings scoring 20 goals and 22 assists for a total of 41 points. Morley was acquired by the Wings in a trade with the Anaheim Storm on December 16, 2004.
Galbraith, a University of Delaware graduate, will begin his second full season with the Wings. Keevin was originally picked up as a free agent by the Wings during the 2002 season and spent two years on the practice squad. In his first full season Galbraith added a goal and four assists.
Nadelen returned to the Wings last season after being lost in the in the 2004 expansion draft to the Minnesota Swarm. Nadelen a 6-foot, 200 pound defenseman added four points in eight games with the Wings last season.
