Colorado Springs, CO. - Tyson Ross struck out six batters in six shutout innings, leading the River Cats past the Sky Sox by a score of 10-2 on Saturday at Security Service Field.

Sacramento got out to an early lead and never looked back, scoring three times in the second inning, starting with a two-run home run from Derek Norris. The River Cats cruised to their 40th win of the season, led by Ross who gave up six hits and one walk in six scoreless innings for his second win of the season.

The Cats were shutting out the Sky Sox until LHP Pedro Figueroa gave up his first runs of the season in the seventh inning. Erick Threets threw a scoreless ninth inning to close out the 10-2 victory.

Leadoff-hitting second baseman Eric Sogard went 3-for-6 with one run and two RBIs. Manny Ramirez, making his second-straight start, went 1-for-6 with an RBI. In addition to Norris, Brandon Hicks and Michael Taylor each hit a home run, contributing to the team's 13 hits, six of which were for extra bases.

The win clinches at least a series-split for the River Cats, who have lost just one series so far this season.

The final game of the series begins on Sunday at 12:05 p.m. when River Cats righty Graham Godfrey (4-0, 1.03 ERA) takes on Sky Sox right-hander Rob Scahill (3-7, 5.76 ERA).
