Zephyrs Rally in 9th to Win

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma - The Zephyrs scored six ninth inning runs rallying to a 12-7 win over first place Oklahoma City. The Z's were down to their final strike in the ninth trailing by a run when Steve Holm dropped a double into left field. Kevin Mattison singled him home to tie the game. Mattison and Scott Cousins were on base when Gil Velazquez hit a slow grounder to third base, Scott Moore attempted to tag out Mattison and the Zephyrs scored the go-ahead run during the run-down. The inning erupted and the New Orleans scored six runs. Jose Valdez suffered the defeat with his first blown save in 13 tries. Rob Delaney pitched two innings of scoreless relief to earn the win. Chris Hatcher worked the ninth inning to close it out. The game was back and forth but the Z's did not lead until the 9th. The game was tied four different times and there was four lead changes in the game. Nick Green led the Zephyrs with four hits and two RBI.
