Rosario, Sala Lead Owlz to 7-3 Win over Osprey

(Missoula) - Rayneldy Rosario and Johan Sala combined for six hits in an Owlz 7-3 win over the Missoula Osprey on Friday night.

The Owlz fell behind in the bottom of the first inning when Blaze Alexander homered to right field. Giving the Osprey a 1-0 lead.

D'Shawn Knowles opened the second inning with a walk and then moved to second base on a Francisco Del Valle single. Connor Fitzsimons tied the game at one with a single, scoring Knowles. The Owlz took the lead in the third inning. After Kevin Maitan reached on an error, Livan Soto walked and Knowles singled to left, loading the bases. Del Valle put the Owlz in front, driving in Maitan with a sacrifice fly. With two outs in the inning, Johan Sala singled in a pair, extending the lead to 3-1.

Hector Yan worked three innings, allowing just one run and striking out three batters in a no-decision before giving way to Robinson Pina. Pina worked two innings and struck out five batters.

The Owlz added another run in the fifth inning thanks to a Sala RBI single. Livan Soto upped the Owlz lead to 6-1 with a sacrifice fly in the eighth.

Osprey scored one in the eighth inning but the Owlz matched it in the ninth on a Rayneldy Rosario singled scoring Sala. Missoula added another run in the ninth but the Owlz came away with the 7-3 win. Pina (1-1) picked up the win while Erin Baldwin was charged with the loss. The Owlz and the Osprey continue the series Saturday night at 7:05.
