Reno Aces News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Reno Aces shortstop Chris Owings-who made his Triple-A debut this season-has been selected to the 2013 All-Pacific Coast League Team, the league office announced today.

Owings has been one of the premier hitters in the PCL, and all of professional baseball, this season. The South Carolina native is currently on Reno's disabled list, and has not played since Aug. 12 due to a hamstring injury; however, he continues to lead the PCL with 170 hits. His .331 batting average is tied for the second-best mark among qualifying PCL batters. Owings also leads the PCL in runs scored (97) and total bases (247).

The 22-year-old was selected as the starting shortstop for the PCL club in the 2013 Triple-A All-Star Game held at Aces Ballpark, and he was also a 2013 MLB All-Star Futures Game selection.

Owings joins Collin Cowgill (2011), Adam Eaton (2012), Jake Elmore (2012), John Hester (2009), Cody Ransom (2011) and Ryan Wheeler (2012) as Reno's all-time All-PCL selections.

Reno is finishing up the 2013 campaign with an eight-game road trip. Ticket packages for the 2014 season are on-sale now at RenoAces.com, by calling (775) 334-7000 or by visiting the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office.
