Taijuan Walker struck out nine batters in six innings in the Tacoma Rainiers 6-4 win over the Tucson Padres Sunday at Kino Stadium. The loss ended the Padres six-game winning streak. The Padres remain in third place, five games back in the Southern Division with eight to play.

The Rainiers went ahead 3-0 in the second behind four hits, including Abraham Almonte's two-out RBI triple to center. Chris Robinson's single to left in the bottom of the second brought around Gregorio Petit from second base to score Tucson's first run of the game. Tacoma added a run in the fifth on Tucson native Stefen Romero's RBI single to center.

Romero then launched a two-run homer onto the left field berm in the seventh to extend the Rainiers' lead to 6-1. The Padres scored three runs in the bottom half of the seventh with the help of Ben Francisco's two-run home run and Brandon Allen's RBI single to right. The home run was Francisco's first with the Padres. Rainiers reliever Logan Bawcom retired the side in the ninth to record his 20th save of the year.

Walker scattered six hits and one run in six innings to earn his fifth win for Tacoma. Sean O'Sullivan was charged with his fifth loss after going five innings, while allowing four runs on ten hits. The right-hander struck out six in his first game in Tucson since July 4.
