Rookie Kasper Reassigned from Worcester

Peoria, Ill. (March 18, 2005) – Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that rookie center Kris Kasper has been returned from the team's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate – the Worcester IceCats.

Kasper – a 5-foot-11, 197-pound native of Gibbons, Alberta – registered one assist, racked up two fight majors and posted a +2 plus/minus in six games with Worcester over two stints. On the season with the Rivermen, the 21-year-old pivot has collected 10 points (6g, 4a) and 152 penalty minutes (PIM) in 38 games. He tallied 59 points (31g, 28a) and 258 penalty minutes (PIM) in 56 games over two seasons (2002-2004) with the Tier II Junior "A" Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL).

The Peoria Rivermen are a proud affiliate of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and a member of the ECHL – The Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Rivermen host the rival Johnstown Chiefs on Tuesday, March 22 and Wednesday, March 23. Game time both nights is 7:00 p.m. at Carver Arena. On Friday, March 25, the Rivermen host the Wheeling Nailers. Game time is 7:30 p.m. All fans will receive a subscription to the Sporting News. On Saturday, March 26, Peoria and Wheeling battle again. Game time is 7:00 p.m. The first 2,500 fans will receive a Duffle Bag, courtesy of OSF – St. Francis Medical Center and the Children's Hospital of Illinois.
