Ronning Drafted by Rangers

Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants would like to congratulate Ty Ronning on being drafted by the New York Rangers at 201st overall in the seventh round of the National Hockey League Draft being held today in Buffalo, New York. Ronning is the 27th player in Giants franchise history to be drafted into the NHL.

"This is a big day for Ty and his family," said General Manager Glen Hanlon. "We look forward to his development and to play a part in the Ronning hockey tradition in Vancouver."

Ronning, who hails from Burnaby, finished the 2015/16 season with a team-high 31 goals to go along with 28 assists in 67 games for the Giants. The 18-year-old was drafted by the G-Men in the first round of the 2012 Bantam Draft at 15th overall.

Earlier today, Giants captain Tyler Benson was selected by the Edmonton Oilers at 32nd overall.
