
Rome Native Stephen Gaylor Joins Team

Rome, GA - Rome Braves announce that OF Keith Curcio has been transferred to the Carolina Mudcats of the Carolina League. Curcio is hitting .345 with 19 RBI for Rome and is third in the South Atlantic League in batting average, tied for third in hits (39), second in on base percentage (.421), and tied for first with nine triples.
Rome receives OF Stephen Gaylor from the Gulf Coast League. Gaylor was signed by the Atlanta Braves as a non-drafted free agent last August and played his college career at Berry College. He is also a Rome, GA native having played high school baseball at Rome High School. "This is a very unique situation for a local athlete that played both his high school and college careers in the same city to return and play professionally for their hometown team," says Rome Braves General Manager Michael Dunn. "We are very happy for Stephen."
Rome continues their four game series in Asheville tonight and returns home on Monday May 18th to begin an eight game home stand including at doubleheader on Friday May 22nd. For ticket information call 706-378-5144.
