
Rome Falls to Charleston 8-5

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves (2-1) fell to the Charleston Riverdogs (1-2) Saturday night 8-5 at State Mutual Stadium before 3,487 fans.
Charleston grabbed a 4-0 lead in the second inning on and RBI single by Gosuke Katoh and a three run homer by Cesar Diaz (3). The Braves came back with two runs in the bottom of the inning on Jonathan Morales' run scoring double and an RBI base hit by Yeudi Grullon making it a 4-2 game. Charleston got the two runs back in the third on a single to plate a run by Jhalen Jackson and Alexamder Palma's sacrifice fly RBI for the 6-2 score. The Braves began to peck away with single runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings closing the gap to an 8-5 score. Charleston's bullpen shutdown the Braves in the ninth to preserve the victory.
Hobie Harris (1-0) earns the win in relief and Rome starter Ricardo Sanchez (3-6) gets the loss. Sanchez went five innings allowed eight hits and six runs.
