WILMINGTON, DE - Jairo Cuevas out-dueled Justin Edwards as the Wilmington Blue Rocks snapped the Dash's four-game win streak with a 3-1 victory at Frawley Stadium on Friday night. The Rocks snapped Winston-Salem's nine-game win streak exactly one week ago and have given the Dash three of the team's six losses.

Winston (15-6) got on the board first when Seth Loman hit a line drive home run to right field off Cuevas to give the Dash a 1-0 lead. The blast was Loman's second in as many nights and his sixth of the season.

The Blue Rocks (10-11) tied the game in the fourth when Anthony Seratelli singled to score Jamie Romak from third.

Wilmington notched another run against Edwards (2-2) in the fifth with an Eric Hosmer RBI single. The southpaw turned in a quality start, but took the loss after allowing two runs on six hits over six innings.

The Blue Rocks got an insurance run in the seventh on a Patrick Norris RBI groundout to make it 3-1 Wilmington.

Cuevas (2-2) allowed eight hits, but the Dash went 1 for 11 with men on base. The last ten Winston-Salem batters were retired in order to finish the game. Barry Bowden worked a perfect ninth for his third save of the season.

Brandon Short went 1 for 4 to extend his hitting streak to a 2010 professional baseball-best 18 games.

Winston-Salem looks to even the three-game series on Saturday night. RHP Nate Jones (2-1, 2.42) opposes RHP Tim Melville (1-2, 10.66). First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. The pre-game show begins at 5:45 on www.wsdash.com.

The team returns to BB&T Ballpark on Friday, May 7 for a three-game series against the Salem Red Sox. Fans may purchase tickets for every Dash game this season by calling the Dash at (336) 714-2287 or visiting www.wsdash.com.
