
Rockets Recall Canaan from Rio Grande Valley Vipers

HOUSTON - Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced today that the team recalled guard Isaiah Canaan from Houston's single-affiliation NBA D-League partner Rio Grande Valley.
Canaan (6-0, 201, Murray State), finished his first stint in the D-League this season where he averaged 21.0 points, 8.5 assists, and 3.5 rebounds in 35.9 minutes per game with the Vipers over the course of four total games. Canaan rejoins the Rockets with whom he appeared in 23 games this season (including nine starts) and recorded 6.7 points, 1.3 assists and 1.4 rebounds per game in15.6 minutes per game. The second year guard guided the Rockets to a 7-2 record in the nine games he started and he set a career-high for points vs. Sacramento on Nov. 26.
Canaan was selected by the Rockets with the fourth pick of the second round (34th overall) in the 2013 NBA Draft.
