Rockets host Everett Silvertips for Hat Trick Wednesday
January 8, 2019 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Kelowna Rockets News Release
The Kelowna Rockets will host the Everett Silvertips tomorrow night on Hat Trick Wednesday at Prospera Place.
Kelowna is coming off a 4-3 loss to the Kamloops Blazers on Saturday night, the Blazers scored the game-winning goal on a penalty shot with 1:20 remaining in the game. Head Coach, Adam Foote says that the Rockets need to bring a strong work ethic to the ice.
"We have to play an A game against Everett and work at their level," said Foote. "They're a team that doesn't stop working shift in and shift out."
The Rockets have already faced the Silvertips once this season. Everett defeated the Rockets 2-1 back on November 24, 2018, at the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Washington.
After this weekend the two teams will only see each other two more times this season. They'll play in Everett on January 18th and back at Prospera on February 15th.
The Rockets will enter Wednesday with a 17-18-3-1 record and 38 points, they sit third in the B.C. Division. Kelowna is nine points ahead of the fifth-place Prince George Cougars and are six points in front of the fourth-place Kamloops Blazers. The Rockets trail the Victoria Royals by three points for second place in the B.C. Division. The Vancouver Giants are in first place with 50 points and a 24-12-2-0 record.
Everett sits atop the U.S. Division and Western Conference with 64 points and a 31-8-1-1 record.
Come cheer on the Rockets and take advantage of the Hat Trick Wednesday deal. You can enjoy the game, a hot dog and a pop for only $19.99 if you purchase your ticket before 2 pm on game day. Tickets are on sale at selectyourtickets.com, at the Prospera Place box office or by phone at 250-762-5050.
