PRINCE GEORGE, BC - The Prince George Cougars Hockey Club is proud to announce the signing of 2003-born forward Blake Eastman to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.
The Cougars selected Eastman in the second-round, 44th overall, in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.
"Blake has really developed this season. He is playing with confidence and he has a strong power game; he plays with an edge," said Director of Scouting Bob Simmonds. "He has a knack for scoring, and we expect him to continue to grow as a player and be a big part of our future."
Eastman is playing at OHA Edmonton, at the Elite 15 level, in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. Eastman sits third in team scoring, with 25 points (17-8-25) in 21 games. He's tied for the team lead in goal-scoring. Last season, the Ardrossan, Alberta, product played for the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League. Eastman finished second in team scoring with 34 points (17-17-34) in 32 games. He finished sixth in scoring at the 2018 Alberta Cup, with nine points (6-3-9) in five games for Team Edmonton Yellow.
Eastman is the third player to sign a WHL Standard Player Agreement from the Cougars' 2018 WHL Bantam Draft class.
