With the 2019 NHL draft in the rearview mirror, the Kelowna Rockets are now preparing for the 2019 CHL Import Draft this Thursday.

Finnish defenceman Lassi Thomson will be protected; he was drafted during the first round of the NHL Draft this past weekend, allowing the Rockets to make two selections. Thomson was selected 19th overall by the Ottawa Senators. He was the Rockets lone pick during the import draft last year, selecting him 53rd overall.

The draft consists of two rounds, positions are determined by how a team finishes throughout the CHL. Kelowna holds the 13th and 72nd picks.

Former Rockets drafted via the import draft include Vaclav Varada, Tomas Slovak, Mikael Backlund, Tomas Soustal and Calvin Thurkauf.

All of the Rockets social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) will have coverage and a recap available on kelownarockets.com.
