
Rockers Lose to Jackrabbits in First Game of Road Trip

Ashwaubenon, Wis.- In the first game of a four-game road trip, the Rockers lost to the Kokomo Jackrabbits 17-5. Green Bay still holds a lead in the season series two games to one.
Starting on the mound for the Rockers was Christian Foutch (Arkansas). All four outs he recorded would be strikeouts, but would only go 1.1 innings on the hill.
Scoring in this matchup opened in the bottom of the second inning when the Jackrabbits scored seven runs. The inning would be highlighted by a three-run homer from Roman Kuntz (Morehead State).
Foutch's college teammate Cooper Dossett (Arkansas) would relieve him on the hill. Dossett led the team in strikeouts on the night with five.
Green Bay would get three runs back in the top of the fourth inning. First baseman Mateo Matthews (Wagner) launched his fourth home run of the season to drive in three runs, making it a 7-3 ball game.
The home team responded with two runs in the bottom half of the frame before the Rockers scored two of their own. Left fielder Jack Holman (UCLA) drew a walk with the bases loaded for his first RBI of the night. Another run would score on a wild pitch, making the score 9-5.
Rockers designated hitter AJ Anzai (Chapman) remained hot at the plate. He had another multi-hit performance after his three-hit game on Sunday, which improved his overall average to .351.
Green Bay relievers Bryce Crabb (Northwestern-St. Paul), Tucker Isbell (Hendrix), and Micah Berens (Incarnate Word) all threw scoreless innings on the mound.
Kokomo would then put up eight runs an inning and a half later for the final scores of this ball game.
With the loss, the Rockers are now 5-10 in the second half. Their overall record remains above .500 at 26-25.
Up next for the Rockers is their last game against the Jackrabbits this regular season. First pitch on Wednesday from Kokomo Municipal Stadium is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. central time.
