Rock Cats Sharp in 8-0 Rain-Shortened Win

New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats (54-43) won a rained shortened game in six innings Wednesday afternoon defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (38-60) 8-0 at New Britain Stadium. David Bromberg earned the win in six scoreless innings. The victory got the Rock Cats to 11 games above .500 which ties a season-high and New Britain won its fifth series in seven tries.

1B Chris Colabello ripped a 2 RBI double down the left field in the first inning giving New Britain a 2-0 lead. The Rock Cats took advantage of a fielding error with two outs and scored four times in the 4th inning against Fisher Cats starter Deck McGuire. The Rock Cats added two more runs in the 5th inning, including an RBI single by INF Nate Hanson.

The game was stopped with the Rock Cats batting and two outs in the 6th due to thunderstorms. The umpires called the game after a delay and the Rock Cats won 8-0. 3B Deibinson Romero had two hits for New Britain.

The Rock Cats begin a 4-game road trip Thursday night at Harrisburg (Washington-NL). Blake Martin will pitch the first game for New Britain.
