LHP Nate Fisher (0-1, 7.88) vs. RHP Joan Adon (0-1, 13.50)

WINGS DOWN: The Rochester Red Wings dropped the series opener against Syracuse by a score of 3-2, just the fourth loss in 13 games to the Mets' top affiliate...a go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh by Quinn Brodey gave Syracuse a late lead, which he followed up by throwing out Taylor Gushue at home plate in the bottom half of the inning to ultimately give Syracuse the win...only left fielder Andrew Stevenson picked up a multi-hit performance for the Wings in the loss, collecting a pair of singles which marks his 22nd game with more than one knock...center fielder Cole Freeman picked up a double, marking the 65th game the Wings have collected an extra-base hit (in 67 games)...RHP Logan Verrett delivered 5.2 innings while allowing only one run and punching out six before ending up with a no-decision...LHP Sam Clay gave up the 7th inning go-ahead shot, marking only the fourth appearance in 19 tries the southpaw has allowed a run...RHP Tyler Clippard held the Mets scoreless through the final two innings, extending his scoreless innings streak to 8.1 (only one earned run since 4/30)...the Wings will send RHP Joan Adon to the mound who will be opposed by southpaw Nate Fisher in game two of series number three between the thruway rivals.

GETTING OFF ON THE WRONG FOOT: The Wings lose their first home game since June 5, falling to Syracuse 3-2...the Red Wings are now 4-8 on the year in series openers, having lost four straight series openers...the Wings are just 2-4-1 in series when they lose the first game of a set (4-0 when they win the series opener).

ANDREW STREAKENSON: Last night, outfielder Andrew Stevenson went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in the first inning...Stevenson has a hit in seven straight games and 10 of his last 11...the seven-game streak is his second-longest of the year (9 G, 5/21-6/2)...the lefty is 16-for-44 (.316) over his eleven-game stretch...his stolen base (18) in the first inning moves him into fourth place in the International League in the category.

LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL: In the first five games following losing streaks that consist of at least seven consecutive losses, dating back to 2008 (9 separate skids), the Wings post a 28-17 record...since 2008, Rochester's series record in the first complete series following these skids is 3-3-3...since the most recent skid (6/7-6/15), the Red Wings post a 2-3 record.

THE SYRACUSE ASSASSIN STRIKES AGAIN: RHP Logan Verrett continued his dominance against the Mets' top affiliate Tuesday night, going 5.2 innings while allowing just one run on four hits and striking out six...after last night's outing, Verrett now has 901.2 innings pitched in his professional career (150 innings pitched in MLB, 751.2 in MiLB)...Syracuse came into tonight's game averaging 8.4 runs per game over their last nine...Verrett has 21 innings pitched against Syracuse this year, allowing just seven earned runs, good for a 3.00 ERA versus the Mets this year...the veteran has recorded six strikeouts in each of his three June outings, good for a 10.1 K/9 this month.

WE STILL STAN, JOEY: After starting June batting .434 (10-for-23) with three homers and five RBI, first baseman Joey Meneses has gone 7-for-his-last-45 (11 games) and is 2-for-his-last-21...Meneses went 1-for-4 last night with an RBI single to score LF Andrew Stevenson in the first...the Wings are 2-9 during Meneses's stretch, having a 35-20 record prior to the stretch...Meneses holds the International League lead in hits (76), second in home runs (15), and is batting .303 (76-for-251) despite the cold streak.

GET THE PARTY STARTED: In Tuesday's contest, the Wings' lead-off hitter reached base four times...outfielder Andrew Stevenson logged one of those lead-off hits and is hitting fifth-best on the club when leading off an inning (.333, 29-for-87)...Rochester's leadoff hitters are second in total hits (136) and fourth in the International League in batting average (.266, 139-for-522).

MR. STEAL YOUR BASE: Outfielders Andrew Stevenson and Josh Palacios each swiped second base in yesterday's 3-2 loss...this marks the 37th game this season that the Wings logged at least one stolen bag and the 22nd time registering multiple swipes in a single contest...Stevenson holds fourth place in the International League-East for stolen bags (18), just one swipe behind third (third place DeLuzio, MEM)...Palacios holds the two-spot on the club for stolen bags (12).

SUPER ILDE-MARIO: After going 1-for-4 in Tuesday's loss to Syracuse, shortstop Ildemaro Vargas now has a hit in six straight games, batting .364 (8-for-22) during that span with a home run, three doubles, and five RBI...Vargas has recorded a hit in 10 of his last 12 games...the switch-hitter also has four of his eight doubles on the season during the 12-game stretch.

NO K-ZONE: The Red Wings are hitting just .233 (133-for-570) in June, ranking 16th out of 20 teams in the International League...despite their struggles to collect hits this month, the Wings are still putting the ball in play, striking out just 130 times in 627 plate appearances (20.7%), good for the second-fewest punch outs in the IL behind only Memphis (STL).

SLIPPERY: During the Red Wings' 2-11 skid, Rochester is batting just .200 (20-for-100) with runners-in-scoring-position...prior to the Wings' slump, the team was batting .286 (151-for-528) with RISP and were 16 games over .500, posting a 35-19 record, their best winning percentage of the year...the Wings currently rank third in the International League with RISP (.272)...their once .286 average would currently stand as the league's top mark but instead the Memphis Red Birds (.278, 159-for-572) rank first.
