Rochester Red Wings (47-53) vs. Columbus Clippers (57-42)

Wednesday - 7:05 p.m. ET - Huntington Park - Columbus, OH

Radio: Fox Sports 1280/iHeartRadio | TV: MiLB.tv

RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon (5-8, 7.75) vs. RHP Cody Morris (ML-Rehab)

WINGS CLIPPED: The Rochester Red Wings lost their 12th-consecutive game yesterday, falling 2-0 to the Columbus Clippers...RHP Cade Cavalli gave up just two earned runs over four innings of work...the bullpen arms of LHP Fransisco Perez, RHP Will Harris (ML-Rehab) and LHP Matt Cronin combined for four perfect innings of relief, retiring 12 consecutive batters...C Riley Adams and OF David Dahl each doubled, but were stranded on base as the club was 0-for-3 with RISP...RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon will start for Rochetser as the team looks to snap a 12-game losing streak.

DOUBLE TROUBLE: C Riley Adams was one of two Red Wings to record an extra-base hit in yesterday's contest, poking a double in the fourth inning...since joining Rochester on June 3, the California-native leads the club with nine extra-base knocks (6 doubles, 3 homers) over that span...Adams has a .283 (15-for-53) batting average with Rochester this season after batting .233 (28-for-120) at the Triple-A level last year (w/ BUF).

BULLY-PEN: LHP Fransisco Perez, RHP Will Harris and LHP Matt Cronin combined for four perfect innings of relief, retiring 12 consecutive batters...facing off against his former squad, Perez led the trio striking out four of the six batters he faced...the southpaw has given up just one earned run over his last 10.1 innings pitched (7 appearances)...his four strikeouts are his most since April 6 at Toledo and his 3.10 ERA (29 IP/10 ER ) is tied for the second-best on the team amongst relievers (min 10 innings).

HISTORICALLY PAINFUL: With four hits last night, Rochester has just 13 hits over their last 3 games, their fewest over a three game stretch this season...the club has lost 12 consecutive games, the longest losing streak in the International League this season...the Wings now tie their longest losing streak since 2010 (8/23-9/03).

SERVICEABLE: RHP Cade Cavalli went four innings and allowed two runs in yesterday's 2-0 loss...the righty's streak of consecutive innings without allowing a run ended at 16.0 innings...the Nationals' top prospect is now 2-2 with a 3.24 ERA in eight road starts with the club, going 5-3 over that span...

- The 23-year-old has yet to eclipse four innings in a series-opening game, posting a 10.38 ERA in five series opening games with Rochester (13 IP/15 ER), never tossing more than four innings in those outings.

MAMA, I MADE IT: Joey Meneses hit his first career Major League home run in the seventh inning of yesterday's Washington Nationals game after being promoted for the first time in his career earlier in the day...with Rochester this year the 30-year-old was tied second in home runs (20) and hits (107)...He became the seventh player in Nationals history (2005-Pres.) to homer in his Major League debut, joining former Wings pitcher Tommy Milone who did it in 2011.

- He is the sixth player in Major League Baseball to homer in his Major League debut this season.

- At 30 years, 88 days, he became the fifth oldest player in Major League Baseball history to homer in his Major League Debut (Oldest: Joe Mack, 33 years, 103 days).

- Meneses is the first Mexican-born player to homer in his MLB debut.

DANG DANIEL: RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon will get the start today as the club looks to snap a 12-game losing streak...the righty allowed just one earned run over three innings of work while striking out six batters prior to the game being suspended (weather) in his first start with the club...his six strikeouts were his most in a three inning span since he struck out the first nine batters he faced on (5/21 w/ SAC).
