Robins Named In Glas Co ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, proudly announce that Jackals right wing Bobby Robins has been named the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Mar. 10-16. The Peshtigo, Wis. native had four goals and six points to help the Jackals go 2-1-0 and stay in second place in the North Division.

After scoring a shorthand goal and a power-play goal in a 4-3 loss at Reading on Mar. 12, the 6-foot-2 and 220-pound Robins scored a season-high three points (2g-1a) in a 6-3 win against Reading on Mar. 14. He extended his assist streak to three games (3a) and his point streak to a season-high six games (6g-4a) with an assist in a 3-0 win at Johnstown on Mar. 15.

In his second full professional season, the 26 year old has 32 points (17g-15a) and 129 penalty minutes in 58 games with Elmira while also playing in the American Hockey League where he has 15 penalty minutes in seven games with Albany, Rochester and Syracuse.

He played his rookie season in the AHL where he had 15 points (7g-8a) and 110 penalty minutes while appearing in all 80 regular season games for Binghamton in 2006-07. He began his professional career in 2005-06 when he signed after completing his college career and had seven points (4g-3a) and 19 penalty minutes in 16 games for Binghamton.

Prior to turning professional Robins played four seasons at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell where he had 69 points (32g-37a) and 253 penalty minutes in 127 games from 2002-06.

On behalf of Bobby Robins, a case of pucks will be donated to an Elmira area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, In Glas Co has donated more than 19,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
