
Turple Returns To Gwinnett

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that goaltender Dan Turple has been reassigned to Gwinnett from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. Turple, under contract with the Atlanta Thrashers has been assigned to Grand Rapids two other times this season, marking three total stints with the Griffins for the Hamilton, Ontario native.
Turple's most recent visit to Grand Rapids lasted only one day as he was called up on March 15th and dressed for Grand Rapids that night only to be reassigned back to Gwinnett on March 16th.
Turple has made four appearances in the American Hockey League this season, starting in Chicago from October 19th to November 1st. Turple was then reassigned to Grand Rapids for the first time from February 19th to 29th and again from March 5th through 8th.
Turple had 6 saves and allowed one goal while playing the third period of Grand Rapids' 6-1 loss to the Quad City Flames on February 24th.
In the ECHL this season, Turple has a 13-10-2-1 record with a 3.13 goals against average and a 0.906 save percentage.
Turple will be available for the Gladiators as they host the Florida Everblades on Thursday.

Celebrating its 20th Anniversary as the Premier 'AA' Hockey League in 2007-08, the ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in three states and has grown to be a coast-to-coast league that has 25 teams in 17 states and British Columbia in 2007-08. The 25 teams includes the Mississippi (Biloxi) Sea Wolves, who return after missing two seasons in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the expansion Elmira (N.Y.) Jackals. The ECHL will play 900 games beginning Oct. 18 and concluding Apr. 5.
