Robertson Scores Hat-Trick, Reaches 50 Goals in Petes' 6-1 Routing of Colts

(Peterborough, ON) - Nick Robertson netted a hat-trick to reach 50 goals on the season as the Petes skated to a 6-1 victory over the Barrie Colts at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Sunday afternoon.

The Toronto Maple Leafs prospect is the first Pete in 27 years - since Jason Dawe and Mike Harding in 1993 - to score 50 goals in a season.

After the Colts opened scoring, the Maroon and White scored six unanswered tallies. Robertson (48, 49, 50) registered goals at even strength, on the power play, and shorthanded, while Brady Hinz (12), Max Grondin (12), and John Parker-Jones (7) each recorded single markers.

Defenceman David Maier had two assists. Hinz, Liam Kirk, Akil Thomas, Mason McTavish, Jack York, and Jacob Paquette earned single assists.

Final shots were 47-28 in favour of the Petes, with Hunter Jones making 27 saves. Peterborough went 2/4 on the power play and 5/5 on the penalty kill.

The Petes are in action at home on Thursday, March 5 to host the Hamilton Bulldogs and on Saturday, March 7 to face the Mississauga Steelheads; both games are at 7:05pm.
