London Knights News Release
As the buzzer sounded to signify the end of the game on Sunday afternoon in Erie, Brett Brochu officially took claim to the London Knights franchise record for wins as a rookie goaltender at 29. The 17-year old first year netminder passed Ryan MacDonald who had held the record since the 2003-2004 season when he posted 28 wins in his first season in the league. Brochu has also collected two shutouts so far this season and currently holds a .918 save percentage and 2.50 goals against average.
Brochu joined the Knights at the beginning of the season after backstopping the Dresden Kings of the PJHL last season where he posted a 27-11-0 record. The Tilbury, Ontario, native was originally drafted by the Knights in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection, 114th overall. Brochu is eligible for the upcoming NHL Entry Draft in June.
