LA Galaxy News Release
LA Galaxy forwards Robbie Keane and Gyasi Zardes have been nominated for the AT&T Goal of the Week for Week 29 for their goals Sunday against the New York Red Bulls.
Keane opened the scoring in the 8th minute, recording his 17th goal of the season. The Irishman received a pass from Landon Donovan on the edge of the 18, created space against NYRB defender Roy Miller and chipped the ball into the far corner over goalkeeper Luis Robles.
Zardes' tally came in the second half, when he scored in the 69th minute to put the Galaxy up, 3-0. Starting from the right side, Zardes brought the ball to the top of the 18 and passed to Donovan inside the box, who played Zardes through with a one-touch pass as Zardes rocketed a shot to the far post.
Keane and Zardes go up against Obafemi Martins (SEA), Lamar Neagle (SEA) and Boniek Garcia (HOU).
Cast your ballot for your favorite goal before voting ends! The winner is determined by the total number of votes cast online and will be announced on Friday.
Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays.
