LAST WEEK'S RECAP

Overall Picture: The Greenville Road Warriors (25-14-1), proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, capped a season-long, 12-game homestand last week with a 2-1-0 record against a pair of North Division opponents, including two overtime thrillers.

On Thursday, the Road Warriors opened their third consecutive three-game series and notched yet another come-from-behind victory, this time against the Indy Fuel in their inaugural meeting. Emerson Clark and Trevor Parkes each scored in regulation to draw the game even before Parkes tipped home a one-timer from Chris McCarthy just 25 seconds into overtime for his second of the game and a 3-2 Warriors' win. Between the pipes, Jeff Malcolm made 28 saves for his team-leading 15th victory of the season.

Just 24 hours later, Greenville's tank ran dry as the Fuel built an early two-goal lead and held on for a 4-2 victory in a Friday night rematch. Parkes and Vinny Saponari each earned a goal, while the Road Warriors converted six of seven penalty kills in the loss. Indy goaltender Mac Carruth made 30 saves in the contest for just his second win this season (2-9-4).

Josh Nicholls stole the show on Saturday when he completed his first professional hat trick with the game-winner in overtime to lift the Road Warriors past Toledo, 4-3. Walleye forward Martin Frk also displayed a three-goal performance in front of 4,592 fans, but Jason Missiaen stopped 32 shots for his ninth win of the season. With the victory, Greenville finished a three-game sweep of the Walleye this season and improved to 14-6-0 on SANDLAPPER Securities Rink.
