Utah's Faragher Named CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week

ORLANDO, Fla. - Ryan Faragher of the Utah Grizzlies is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Jan. 12-18.

Faragher went 3-0-1 with a 2.17 goals-against average and a save percentage of .931 in four appearances last week.

The 24-year-old made 29 saves in a 4-3 overtime loss at Idaho on Tuesday, stopped 24 shots in a 2-1 shootout win against the Steelheads on Wednesday, had 36 saves in a 5-2 victory at Bakersfield on Friday and turned aside 32 shots in a 3-2 victory over the Condors on Saturday.

A native of Fort Frances, Ontario, Faragher has appeared in 21 games with the Grizzlies this season posting a record of 10-6-3 with one shutout while ranking second among rookie goaltenders with a 2.61 goals-against average.

Under a National Hockey League contract with the Anaheim Ducks, Faragher played the last three seasons at St. Cloud State University, appearing in 98 games with an overall record of 53-34-8 with five shutouts, a 2.58 goals-against aerage and a save percentage of .911.

Runners Up: Joel Martin, Kalamazoo (2-0-0, 2.00 GAA, .933 save pct.) and Eric Hartzell, Wheeling (2-0-0, 2.00 GAA, .931 save pct.).

Also Nominated: Roman Will (Fort Wayne), Henri Kiviaho (Idaho), Jussi Olkinuora (Ontario), Garret Sparks (Orlando) and Jeff Lerg (Toledo).
