Road Warriors Alumni Cameron Talbot Makes NHL Debut

Greenville, SC: Greenville Road Warriors Alumni, goaltender Cameron Talbot, made his NHL debut with the New York Rangers on Thursday night against the Philadelphia Flyers. This appearance made him the 518th ECHL player to appear in the NHL.

Talbot played 59 minutes for the Rangers last night saving 25 out of 27 shots. He recorded 2.03 goals against average and .926 save percentage in his first NHL game. Talbot and the New York Rangers lost 2-1 to the Philadelphia Flyers.

Talbot made two appearances with the Greenville Road Warriors in February 2011. He played a total of 122:01 minutes with the Road Warriors and registered 63 shots against, five goals against, 58 saves with a 2.46 goals against average and .921 save percentage. He tallied one win and an overtime loss during his two games with the Road Warriors.

During his time with the Wolf Pack this season Talbot, 26, is 2-0-1 with a 2.54 goals against average and .918 save percentage in three games with Hartford. The Caledonia, Ontario native is currently tied for fourth in the AHL with two wins and ranks sixth with 89 saves. He leads the Wolf Pack in goals against average and save percentage. In over five seasons in the AHL, Talbot has collected a 52-53-5 recorded with a 2.68 goals against average, .913 save percentage, and eight shutouts in 114 regular season games.
