Tonight's Matchup: Tonight, the San Francisco Bulls (1-1-1-0) arrive in the third city on their eight-game road trip. They face off with the Utah Grizzlies (1-1-1-0) at Maverik Center. This is the first of seven meetings between these two squads this season.
Two nights ago, the Bulls lost to the Idaho Steelheads in a tightly contested nail biter, 3-2 in overtime. Chris Crane and Dale Mitchell scored the two tallies for San Francisco. Mark Lee registered his second assist of the young season, and Damon Kipp also chipped in with a helper. Tyler Beskorowany, in his first contest against his former club, had a strong game in the losing effort, stopping 39 of 42 shots.
Beskorowany has been fantastic so far for the Bulls. He has started all three games for San Francisco, and despite having faced the most shots in the ECHL, has a sterling .929 save percentage.
The Bulls heard good news yesterday when they found out Utah's top scorer, Jamie MacQueen, was called up to the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL. MacQueen is off to a blistering start, having already netted a league leading six goals in three games. On Utah's roster is former-Bull Martin Lee. He spent eight games with the team last season.
The Bulls will be looking to bring more of a scoring punch of their own, especially from their power play unit. On the man advantage they have started the season 1-for-11. Last Wednesday night, however, they started looking much better, getting their first power-play goal from Crane in the third period. They will try to build on that momentum tonight.
Listen to tonight's action on KNBR.com, or watch at AmericaOneSports.com. Park 77 Bar is also airing the game at 6 pm. Park 77 is located at 77 Cambon Drive in the Parkmerced complex in San Francisco.
Next week the Bulls head to Colorado for a three-game series, beginning on Wednesday, October 30 at 6:05pm.
