Road Warriors Add Ten from AHL

Greenville, SC : The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that ten new players will join the team from American Hockey League training camps. Four players from the Road Warriors Preseason Roster have been released.

Defenseman Steven Delisle has been assigned to the Road Warriors by their NHL affiliate, the New York Rangers. Forwards Ryan Flanigan, Danny Hobbs, and Jordie Johnston have been assigned to the Road Warriors by their AHL affiliate, the Connecticut Whale.

In addition, forwards Andrew Courtney and Nicolas Tremblay as well as defensemen Edwin Shea, Colten Haynes, Kyle Haines and goaltender Bryan Hince are returning to Greenville after participating in AHL training camps.

Steven Delisle split time in the AHL and ECHL last season. He played six games in the AHL with the Springfield Falcons and 38 games in the ECHL with the Chicago Express.

Ryan Flanigan played 36 games in 2011-2012 with Merrimack College and finished with 11 goals and 18 assists. He made four appearances in the AHL for the Hamilton Bulldogs, scoring one goal and one assist.

Danny Hobbs, drafted by Rangers in the 7th round pick (198 overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, played all of last year at Umass-Amherst. There he had 12 goals and 12 assists in 32 games.

Jordie Johnston finished his tenure with Ferris State last season scoring 20 goals and 16 assists in 43 games. He played in the AHL for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers for 3 games to finish the 2011-2012 season.

Andrew Courtney spent all of 2011-2012 with the Missouri Mavericks of the CHL. In 63 games, he collected 29 goals and 30 assists with a +12. He set a team rookie record for goals and was named to the All-CHL rookie team.

Nicolas Tremblay started last season at Clarkson University where he tallied 36 points in 37 games. Much like Johnston and Flanigan, he played a brief span in AHL. Tremblay played four games with the Providence Bruins and posted two points.

Edwin Shea finished his fourth year at Boston College, dressing in 44 games and collecting seven assists in the time span. During Shea's four years at BC, he helped the Eagles to two NCAA National Championships.

Colten Haynes split time last season between the ECHL's Stockton Thunder and Reading Royals. In 48 games with the two teams, Hayes tallied three goals and 20 assists. Hayes was acquired by the Road Warriors in an offseason trade with Reading.

Kyle Haines, a product of Lake Superior State University, played in 40 games with his collegiate team last season. He was able to notch seven goals and 17 assists in 40 games. He moved on to play only two games in the AHL with the Lake Eire Monsters.

Bryan Hince will be making his return to Greenville after a fantastic stint last season. During his five games in Greenville, he had stellar numbers: 1.59 GAA, .940 SV% and had a 5-0 record. He was dealt to Idaho where he put up a 3-1 record 3.84 GAA and a .888 SV% in 7 games played.

Chad Ziegler, Derek Matheson, Sebastian Trudeau and Pat Schafer were relased from the team.
