Road Runners sign goaltender Carroll

The Edmonton Road Runners have announced goaltender Ken Carroll has been signed to a professional tryout contract.

Carroll, a native of Oil City, Ontario has played 19 games with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the Central Hockey League this season, posting a 13-5-1 record with a 2.39 goals against average and a .915 save percentage.

The 28-year-old was named the Western Professional Hockey League's Most Outstanding Goaltender and Rookie-of-the-Year in 2000-01 after posting a 27-9-1 record. His 1.89 goals against average and .935 save percentage also established new single-season records for the Mudbugs.

During his four-year CIAU career with the University of New Brunswick, Carroll was named Most Valuable Player after leading the Varsity Reds to a national championship in 1998.
