
Penguins assign Cam Paddock to Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. â The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins today reassigned forward Cam Paddock to their ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers.
Paddock, 21, is scoreless with six penalty minutes in 16 games with the Penguins this season. In 14 games with the Nailers this season, he has recorded five points (3+2) and 23 penalty minutes. He was recalled from Wheeling for the third time this season on January 6.
The 6'1", 196-pound native of North Vancouver, B.C. appeared in one game with the Penguins last season, going scoreless with two penalty minutes. He was assigned to Kelowna (WHL) on October 11, 2003 and helped the Rockets to the Memorial Cup Championship.
In 62 games with Kelowna, Paddock recorded 39 points (17+22) and 86 penalty minutes. He ranked third on the team in goals, fifth in points and fifth in power-play goals (4). In the post-season, Paddock finished tied for ninth on the team in playoff scoring and was tied for the team lead with four points (1+3) in four Memorial Cup games.
He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fifth round (137th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
With the roster move, the Penguins now have 24 players on their roster - two goaltenders, eight defensemen and 14 forwards.
The Penguins (18-11-4-4, 44 points; T-3RD-Place, East Division) will look to end their four-game winless streak (0-3-0-1) tomorrow night when they visit the Binghamton Senators (21-14-3-2, 47 points; 2ND-Place, East Division) in the first game of a four-game road trip. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
Following tomorrow night's game against the Senators, the Penguins will visit the Albany River Rats on Saturday (7:30 p.m. start) and then will travel to Winnipeg, Manitoba for two games against the Manitoba Moose next Tuesday (January 18) and Thursday (Jan. 20) at the MTS Centre. Starting time for both games will be at 8:30 p.m. EST.
The Penguins' next home game will be on Saturday, Jan. 22 against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (7:05 p.m. start). Approximately 190 tickets are still available for the game.
