Pirates Sign Brad Parsons

PORTLAND, ME - Portland Pirates Head Coach Tim Army announced today that center Brad Parsons has signed a Professional Try-Out (PTO) with the Portland Pirates and right winger Jonas Johansson has been sent on loan to the South Carolina Stingrays.

Parsons played in two games with the Pirates last weekend and before being returned to South Carolina on Monday. Parsons returned to the Stingrays and contributed an assist in South Carolina's win over Columbia on Tuesday night. In 28 games this season with the Stingrays, Parsons has 16 points (0 goals, 16 assists).

The Pirates play two games at home this weekend, Saturday against the Lowell Lock Monsters and Sunday against the Manchester Monarchs.

Johansson has been sent on loan to South Carolina after playing in 32 games this season with the Pirates registering 7 points (3 goals, 4 assists). Johansson was a first round draft pick of the Colorado Avalanche in 2002 (28th overall). A native of Sweden, a rookie, will join the Stingrays in Gwinnet, GA in time for the Stingrays game on Friday night.
