THE BIG SHAKE FOR THE EDMONTON FOOD BANK!
Everyone attending Wednesday's game is encouraged to bring a box of macaroni and cheese to help cheer on the Road Runners against the Grand Rapids Griffins. Fans are encouraged to use their macaroni and cheese boxes as noisemakers during the game, then donate them to the Edmonton Food Bank before leaving Rexall Place.
THURSDAY, JANUARY 27, 2005 VS. GRAND RAPIDS GRIFFINS (7:00 P.M.)
CANADA POST NHL ALL-STAR NIGHT!
UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA DUCT TAPE CHALLENGE!
The Road Runners are hosting a national stamp unveiling at Thursday's game. Former NHL all-stars Grant Fuhr, Johnny Bucyk, Henri Richard, Bryan Trottier, Allan Stanley and Pierre Pilote will be on hand to unveil Canada Post's newest stamp in a pre-game ceremony. The NHL greats will also be interviewed during the first and second intermissions, reflecting on their illustrious hockey careers.
Also, in what should be an interesting first intermission, the University of Alberta Golden Bears and Pandas will face each other in the "U of A Duct Tape Challenge". The two teams will race to tape both the Bear and Panda mascots to the glass using only duct tape. The team who can remove the chair from beneath their mascot's feet the fastest, wins!
JANUARY IS FAMILY MONTH AT REXALL PLACE
The Edmonton Road Runners are offering a number of initiatives for their Family Month theme for home games during the month of January.
The Club is offering free family carload parking for all games during the month. Cars containing four or more people can park for free on the main Rexall Place site, while space is available. Entry is through the main gates at 120 Avenue and Wayne Gretzky Drive South.
Throughout January, retail outlets at Rexall Place are offering a youth Road Runners jersey at half-price when an adult jersey is purchased at regular price.
Families will also have the opportunity to receive a family portrait at no charge. A portrait area will be set up on the main concourse where families can pose for the free portrait in a Road Runners dressing room stall. The photos will be e-mailed to the families following the game.
All games during the month of January also feature Edmonton Sun Family Packs, which include four tickets, four hot dogs and four soft drinks on sale for only $64, a savings of $46 per Pack.
Tickets for all Road Runners January games, including Edmonton Sun Family Packs, are available at all Ticketmaster outlets or by calling (780) 414-GOAL (4625).
