Riversharks Win 5-4 in 11 Innings over Patriots

Camden, NJ - The Camden Riversharks (13-21, 41-63) defeated the Somerset Patriots (20-14, 70-34) 5-4 in 11 innings via walk-off fashion Friday evening at Campbell's Field. Left fielder Evan Crawford slapped the game winning RBI single.

In the top of the first inning catcher Adam Donachie poked a RBI single to give Somerset a 1-0 advantage.

Designated hitter Mat Gamel crushed a home run (7) in the top of the second inning to expand the Patriots lead to 2-0.

The Riversharks cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the third inning as center fielder Michael Rockett tallied a RBI sacrifice fly making the score 2-1.

Shortstop Robert Andino recorded a RBI sacrifice fly in the ensuing half inning as the Patriots took a 3-1 lead.

Camden grabbed a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning as second baseman Paddy Matera laced a two RBI double while first baseman Ryan Strieby smacked a RBI double.

Andino ripped a game tying RBI double in the top of the sixth inning to even the score at 4-4.

This was Somerset's first loss at Campbell's Field this season in 10 tries.

Jeff Singer earned the win (1-0) in relief. Anthony Collazo suffered the loss (3-2) in relief.
