Rivermen Claim Rohanna Off Waivers from Toledo

Peoria, Ill. (October 18, 2004) – Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that rookie defenseman Dan Rohanna was claimed off waivers Sunday, October 17 from the Toledo Storm.

Rohanna – a 6-foot-3, 215-pound native of Waynesburg, Pa. – played eight games for the Fort Worth Brahmas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) late last season at the conclusion of a three-year career at NCAA Division III SUNY-Fredonia of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). The 25-year-old backliner collected 37 points (8g, 29a) in 69 career games at Fredonia. As a senior, he registered single-season collegiate career bests in games played (27), goals (4) and penalty minutes (PIM-20), and he notched single-season collegiate career bests in assists (14) and points (16) as a sophomore newcomer.

The Peoria Rivermen are a proud affiliate of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and a member of the ECHL – America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. Peoria opens its ninth season in the 28-team league on Friday, October 22, 2004, when they host the archrival Dayton Bombers at Carver Arena.
