Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release

BILOXI, Miss. – The Professional Hockey Players' Association (PHPA) announced in St. Catharines, Ontario that Louis Dumont of the Mississippi Sea Wolves has been selected as the ECHL recipient of the 2004 InterContinental Hotels Group Ironman Award.

"It makes me feel good that the PHPA recognizes what I'm doing," said Dumont, who is the ECHL all-time leader with 754 points and 465 assists. "I really appreciate it. The PHPA has played a big role in my career in the ECHL. I would like to thank everyone that voted for me."

The Ironman Award is presented annually to the one PHPA Member playing in the American Hockey League and one Member playing in the ECHL, who has participated in all of his respective Club's regular season games and has contributed both offensively and defensively throughout that campaign.

A native of Calgary, Alberta, Dumont wins the award for the second time in his career. He garnered the award in 2002 as a member of the ECHL Pensacola Ice Pilots.

In 2003-04, Dumont topped an elite field of ECHL candidates whose nominations were based upon individual player performance, with primary consideration placed on games played, points, and plus/minus statistics. Dumont took top honors over the 54 other "Ironmen" by amassing 33 goals and 51 assists over 72 games, while boasting an impressive plus/minus of +30. The Sea Wolves center also ranked in the top 10 among the ECHL's overall point leaders, goal scoring leaders and assist leaders.

To commemorate his outstanding effort and performance, Dumont will be presented with 30,000 Priority Club Points, in addition to a commemorative InterContinental Hotels Group Ironman Award print.
