RiverKings Fourth In First CHL Coaches Poll

(Southaven, MS - 11/6/09) --- The first Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll of the season has been released by the league and the RiverKings are ranked fourth in it.

The RiverKings received 85 points in the balloting of CHL coaches done twice monthly during the regular season.

Last year's RiverKings team finished the regular season ranked number one in the league.

Odessa leads the first poll of the season with nine first place votes and 130 points, followed in second place by the expansion Allen Americans with five first place votes and 116 points.

Colorado is the highest ranked Northern Conference team in the poll at number three. The Eagles received one first place ballot and 114 points.

Following the RiverKings, the poll shows these teams in order: Amarillo, Laredo, Texas, Tulsa, Rapid City, and Bossier-Shreveport.

The polling is done with the teams ranked on a 10-9-8-7-6, etc. scale and teams cannot vote for themselves.

The RiverKings begin a two-game weekend series with the Rapid City Rush tonight in Rapid City, then return home to play the Tulsa Oilers on Tuesday, November 10th at 7:05 PM. It's Non-Profit Expo night and several area non-profit groups are being highlighted.
