Jacks Top Mudbugs with Four Power Play Goals

(Bossier City, LA) - Four power play goals for the Odessa Jackalopes powered a 4-1 over the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Friday night at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, LA. It was Odessa's first win over the Mudbugs since December 21, 2002.

After a scoreless first period the Jackalopes scored a pair of power play goals in the second to take a 2-0 lead. Phil Plante opened the scoring at 3:07 for his third goal of the season. Dominic Leveille and Kory Karlander had the assists. Then Leveille scored his third of the season on a one-time from the top of the right circle. Alex Dunn and Plante added the helpers as the Jacks took a two-goal lead into the break.

Kenny Bernard extended the Jackalopes' lead to 3-0 with a power play goal 3:18 into the third period. Karlander and Leveille had the assists on Bernard's sixth of the season - it was his sixth straight game with a goal as well. The Mudbugs found their way onto the score sheet as Joe Zappala scored at 5:02 to make it 3-1. Mike Ramsay scored on a rebound at 17:28 to seal the game on assists from Jeff Pierce and Collin Circelli. The final score was 4-1.

The Jacks and Mudbugs continue their weekend set tomorrow at the CenturyTel Center at 7:05 PM. The action can be heard on 102.1 Jack FM.
