
Bucks Bounce Back With Shootout Win

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League beat the Arizona Sundogs 3-2 in a shootout Friday night at Tim's Toyota Center. With the win the Bucks snap their two-game winless streak as they improve to 4-2-2 (10 points). Arizona falls to 3-4-2 (eight points).
Jeff Bes had three points, including the game-winning goal in the shootout, while J.P Levassuer stopped 23 of 25 shots in net, including all five in the shootout.
Laredo improves to 7-3 all-time in Arizona.
The Bucks struck for two power-plays in the first period to take a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes. Maxime Lincourt re-directed Mike Looby's shot from the point just 2:51 into the first. The goal was Lincourt's third of the year, with Looby and Bes picking up assists.
Laredo would score their second power-play goal in the first period 11:37 in, as Evan Schwabe jammed in a pass at the right side of the crease from Adam Rivet. Schwabe's third goal of the year was assisted by Rivet and Bes.
The Sundogs cut the Bucks lead to 2-1 at the 12:30 mark when Joey Sides scored his second of the year on a rebound at the right side of the crease.
Laredo was outshot in the first period 10-8.
The Bucks improved to 4-0 when leading after the first period this season.
Neither team was able to score in the second period, giving the Bucks a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes. Laredo killed off three Arizona power-plays in the second, including a 13 second four-on-three advantage.
The Bucks outshot the Sundogs in the second period 12-7.
Laredo improved to 4-0 when leading after two periods this season.
Konrad Reeder would tie the game at 2-2 just 53 seconds into the third period when he slammed home a one-timer from Jon Landry at the top of the right circle.
Laredo outshot Arizona in the third period 12-5, and had a 33-25 advantage for the game.
J.F Perras stopped 30 of 32 shots in taking the shootout loss for Arizona.
The Bucks and Sundogs will finish their three-game series in Arizona Saturday night.
